How to notify

Last Updated Mar 2009

The Child Abuse Report Line on 131 478  is a part of Families SA. The Report Line is a centralised point of intake and all child protection concerns are to be reported to the Report Line.

There are three teams in operation during these times.

  • The generic Child Abuse Report Line team is staffed by social workers. All notifications are reviewed on the day by senior social workers for quality assurance.
  • The Yaitya Tirramangkotti Line is staffed by Aboriginal Family Practitioners.
  • The Diversionary Assessment Response Team (DART) was created to provide a consultation service to help notifiers assess whether the matter needs to be reported. It also guides people with concerns about a child to other resources they can use to assist the child and their family.

Please note: There is often a peak time between 11pm to 12 pm and 3 pm to 4 pm. Calls made during this time can expect a longer than usual delay.

Please remember that the Child Abuse Report Line is a 24 hour number and there may be other times when it is possible to make a report where you will not have to wait as long.
