The Department for Families and Communities (DFC) is now the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI). Families SA, including the child protection and family support functions, is now part of the new Department for Education and Child Development. Youth Justice remains with DCSI and the Department now includes  Multicultural SA, Northern Connections, Office for the Southern Suburbs, Office for Volunteers, Office for Women, Office for Youth and Social Inclusion. Byte Back

This program reconfigures the Department’s redundant computers and supplies these to 250-300 children and young people under the Guardianship of the Minister. Each computer is configured with basic software. Support and training is also provided to assist access to education and skill development. It also provides some back up support to 850 young people who have received one of the Byte Back computers.
