DFC is committed to delivering a better life for South Australians. The department is focused on placing the needs of our citizens and their families at the centre of our service delivery and facilitates positive outcomes for our clients by applying our values: connected, ethical, brave and respectful.

The past 12 months presented many highlights and challenges for the department’s key service areas including housing, care and protection of children and young people, disability support, ageing and community engagement.

The department is guided by seven governance principles and the services we deliver are bound by legislative requirements.

DFC is contributing to several social priorities of the South Australian Government, including Reconciliation, disability inclusion across the public sector, support for carers, and reducing the environmental impact of government activities.

Outcomes during 2010-11 in regards to accounts payment performance, expenditure on consultants and contractual arrangements entered into where the total value of the contract exceeds $4 million (GST inclusive).
