If you are a perpetual or pastoral lease holder living outside a local government area and receiving Exceptional Circumstances income support payments from Centrelink, you may be eligible for a concession on your lease costs of up to $190 a year, and a concession of up to $150 a year for energy use.
Eligibility
Pastoral leaseholders
To be eligible:
- You must have received Exceptional Circumstances payments from Centrelink for at least 3 months during the current financial year.
- You, your spouse or domestic partner must be the registered owner/s of the property.
Where the lease is in the name of a company:
- You must be the only registered owner/s of the company holding the lease for the property
- The registered owners of the company must be the family members deemed eligible for the Centrelink payment.
You must live on the property, within the boundaries of the lease.
Perpetual leaseholders
To be eligible:
- You must have received an Exceptional Circumstances payment from Centrelink for at least 3 months during the current financial year.
- You must operate the land as a single farming enterprise where total rent costs exceed $190.
- You must be the registered leaseholder for the leases constituting a single farming enterprise.
Where the lease is in the name of a company:
- The registered owner of the company must be the family member deemed eligible for the Centrelink payment;
You must live on the property, within the boundaries of the lease.
