Lodgement at Australia Post

Applications can be lodged at Australia Post outlets with bill-paying facilities. This includes the majority of metropolitan and regional centre outlets.

Applicants are required to provide details of a relevant requesting organisation for the notification of email results and final decision making.  
 
All applicants are required to have their identification verified by the production of documentary evidence to the minimum standard of the "100 Point Check" as referred to in the Financial Transaction Reports Act 1988 (Cth).
 
Please note that the applicant’s identification must be verified prior to lodgement. Australia Post staff are not authorised to verify identification. Identification can be verified by a responsible person in the applicant’s requesting organisation, a Justice of the Peace or Commissioner for taking Affidavits (Solicitor, Barrister or Proclaimed Police Officer).
 
Charges are $62.20 for employed persons and $42.40 for volunteers or students on placements (GST inc). Payment can be made with credit card, EFTPOS or cash (no cheques).
 
For applications requesting a working with children and / or vulnerable adults screening, all applicants will receive a personal clearance letter if applicable. The clearance letter is designed to encourage mutual acceptance by employers and volunteer organisations to reduce the requirement for multiple screening of individuals. An email notification of clearance will be forwarded to the requesting organisation.

Where the request is for an employment probity check only, please note that a clearance letter will not be provided to the applicant, however an email notification of the clearance will be sent to the requesting organisation
 
Only the Australia Post Informed Consent Form can be used for lodgement at Australia Post.

Applications forms must be completed correctly and legibly, preferably typed in accordance with the form completion instructions. Forms not completed including identity verification will be returned causing undue delays.
