Families SA community partners

Last Updated Jul 2010

We cannot deliver services to the community alone. Many of our services are provided in partnership with:

  • Other government departments
  • Non-government sectors
  • Our volunteers from the community.

In supporting families to raise their children safely and creating child safe environments for children, we rely on the assistance of the whole community, and in particular the work of many non government agencies.

See the Child Safe Environments section for details of resources available to organisations to help create safer environments.

We also work with care providers and the non-government sector to develop and implement improved and expanded alternative care options and services.

Foster carers are recognised as our partners in the care, protection and wellbeing of young people.

We work actively with other agencies to tackle some of the issues associated with young offenders. These include homelessness, substance abuse and neglectful or abusive parenting.

Dedicated volunteers help children stay in touch with their birth families

Our work takes us into people’s lives, their relationships and their changing life circumstances. This requires us to act with respect, humility and sound judgement.

Keeping them safe – we are all in this together
