Social inclusion

Social inclusion is an ongoing priority of the South Australian Government.

The Department for Communities and Social Inclusion is the lead agency responsible for promoting social inclusion across all South Australian Government agencies and the wider community.

The department has a key role in supporting independence and participation for individuals, families and communities. It also has a key role in strengthening communities and representing the interests of population groups such as young people, women, carers, people of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities, and volunteers.

The Policy and Community Development Division within the department is responsible for this role.

The Social Policy team within this division leads the coordination and oversight of social inclusion activities across the agency and South Australian Government.
